EDUC490/Lecture/01 - Internship in Elementary Education/CS | Credits 12.00
Prerequisite: A minimum of a 2.50 grade point average overall, in the teaching field(s), and in professional studies; a grade of C or better in each professional studies course; admission to the Educator Preparation Program; and a passing score on the Praxis II assessment. A structured, full-time supervised field experience for one semester to take place in the regular elementary (K-6) classroom with special education students mainstreamed, or to be divided between the regular elementary classroom and the special education resource room and/or a multi-handicapped classroom. Two placements will occur, including one in the lower grades and one in the upper grades. The student’s supervising professor will assign a letter grade to reflect the quality of the student’s work during the internship.
