Prerequisite: EDUC101 and proficiency in MATH154. An exploration of mathematical topics in elementary education, with special emphasis on problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections, and representation. Topics include: the integers and the rational and real number systems, geometry, measurement, algebra, and coordinate systems. (MATH221 is designed for Elementary Education/Collaborative Special Education majors.)
